Teacher Grants Available through the Katy ISD Education Foundation- Deadline for submission is April 1st
Imagine a classroom...
...where every
dream is a possibility.
...where
thinking means going
big.
...where extraordinary
endeavors are the norm.
...where opportunities are limited only by one's
imagination.
...where the creative reality of one changes the
trajectory of thousands.
...where the community makes all that happen.

The newly created Katy ISD Education Foundation's mission is to "provide resources to enrich teaching, inspire learning, and enhance opportunities for students enrolled in Katy ISD". One of the ways the foundation is doing this is by offering teacher grants of up to $1,000 for individual teachers and $5,000 for campus team projects.
According to the Grant and Financial Guidelines, "the purpose of this grant program is not primarily to increase test performance on a standardized test but rather enhance and extend the educational experience in the classroom. The primary criterion for dispersing grants will be high-quality educational content and the impact on students and/or educational community. The project must promote advancement of skills or knowledge and add depth to the educational programming".
The application for grants to be awarded next school year is due to Janet Theis by 4:00 p.m. on April 1, 2013. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.
I know that you are doing creative, inspired, and wonderful things with your students to advance their language arts skills. I encourage you to apply for this grant so you have the funds to take those ideas even further. Good luck!
